Condemned

Carnegie Community Centre

Condemned is a community opera that highlights the troubles of homeless people in Vancouver's poorest neighbourhood.

Created and performed by residents of the Downtown Eastside, it tells the story of several people living in a low-rent hotel and the personal struggles they face to survive.

With support from Vancouver Foundation, Condemned was originally presented on stage at Carnegie Community Centre Theatre in 2006 and at the Firehall Arts Centre in 2007.

(Originally aired: 2008)
