A better home, a second chance
Critter Care Wildlife Society
A snow storm damaged the bear home at Critter Care Wildlife Society in Langley. Thanks to Donald and Virginia Waldock’s Relief of Distressed Animals Fund, which is held at Vancouver Foundation, Critter Care received funding to repair the bear enclosure, where they rehabilitate orphaned bear cubs. Vancouver Foundation also gave a grant to expand the bear enclosure.
Bears aren’t the only ones at this wildlife rehabilitation centre in Langley. Animals with injuries such as possums, river otters, raccoons and more all get a second chance at life here, thanks to the care of founder Gail Martin, her staff and volunteers. Last year they cared for 120 raccoon babies alone. Most animals go on to be released in the wild.
