Approximately 80% of BC residents live in cities. Here in latté land we sometimes forget that two thirds of provincial revenue comes from resource industries in rural areas: fishing, forestry, farming and mining.
Vancouver Foundation initiated a dialogue on the complex interdependence between cities and rural populations. Economists and environmentalists, citizens and leaders and many more gathered to share ideas and plan for the future. Whether we live in the city or the country we have a common future and we need to work together for future prosperity.
